Special Thanks

Holland Junior Welfare League

In April we received a grant from the Holland Junior Welfare League in the amount of $7,800 to help support the medical component of our services.  The Holland Junior Welfare League has provided financial assistance to the Center since our inception and we extend a hearty THANK YOU! to the members of the H.J.W.L. for their continued support.

Bank of Holland

The Bank of Holland's Charitable Giving Program is run by employees who choose to make donations to specific organizations, and those donations are matched by Bank of Holland.  The employees chose six non-profit organizations as recipients of these funds, and the Children's Advocacy Center was one of those lucky groups.  Thank you to Bank of Holland and the wonderful employees who so generously gave to this creative venture!

Johnson Controls, Inc.

We were selected to be the recipients of funds raised during Johnson Control Inc.'s annual "Care and Share" program.  JCI employees and owners donated $15,933 to the Center.  We very much appreciate their generosity and support.

Faith Reformed Church

We would like to say a special "thank you" to Faith Reformed Church in Zeeland.  Their youth groups have come to the Center on two separate occasions to help us with various work projects.  The two groups (one high school group and one middle school group) have tackled everything from washing baseboards to cleaning windows and we really appreciate their efforts.  Faith Reformed also allowed us to give a short presentation to each of their morning services on March 16, 2003.  Darcy Komejan-Babcock spoke to the congregation about the services we provide to hundreds of children each year, and their March mission offering was dedicated to us.  On April 16, 2003 the middle school youth group presented us with a check for $2,590.00!  Their generosity is truly a testament of their commitment to the children of our community.

Women's Literary Club

We recently received a donation from the Holland Women's Literary Club for the amount of $300.00.  We certainly appreciate this gift as well as their ongoing recognition of our services.

American Sewing Guild

The American Sewing Guild in Holland donated hand-sewn medical gowns in a variety of children's sizes.  The bright, cheerful fabrics will help to make the children feel more comfortable during the exams.  Thank you so much!

Children's Resource Network and Lakeshore Little People's Place

April is "Month of the Young Child" and in order to promote awareness of this special month, Children's Resource Network sponsored a paper doll campaign.  The children of Lakeshore Little People's Place in Holland decorated several paper dolls and gave them to us to display in our windows.  It gives us great pleasure to display the artwork that these children have provided us!
