Other Ways to Give
IN-KIND GIFTS
In-kind gifts of goods or services help to reduce costs for the Center, as well as provide needed supplies to children and families in crisis. You can donate independently, purchase items through our Amazon wishlist, or coordinate a drive for Cora’s Care Closet!
EVENT SPONSORSHIP
Consider sponsoring one of our fundraising events! Not only will your sponsorship support child sexual abuse prevention and intervention, but it also comes with various forms of recognition including print materials, social media, and event signage.
GIFT OF STOCKS OR SECURITIES
By donating stock that has appreciated for more than a year, you may be able to give up to 20 percent more than if you sold the stock and then made a cash donation! We encourage you to consult with your financial, tax or legal advisor about whether this is right for you.
We are so grateful for the generosity of our donors and strive to acknowledge the gift in a timely and accurate manner. It can be difficult to identify the donor after a gift of securities is processed, particularly in the case of an electronic transfer. Therefore, please ask your broker to include your name and address in the DTC transfer instructions, and also please inform our Advancement Director of your gift by email (mneubert@cac-ottawa.org) or phone (616-393-6123 ext. 336).
IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
The IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) or IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals age 70½ or older to make an outright gift up to $100,000 annually to the Children's Advocacy Center from a traditional IRA. The withdrawal amount may count toward your annual required minimum distribution (RMD). Although the RMD is not required until age 73, the QCD can be particularly beneficial for donors who do not itemize and instead file the standard deduction.
To initiate an IRA Charitable Rollover:
Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us
Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work
Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction
DONOR ADVISED FUNDS
Donor Advised Funds (DAF) provide a convenient and tax-efficient method for donors to manage their charitable giving. To establish the fund, an donor makes an irrevocable tax-deductible contribution (cash, stock, real estate, etc.) to a sponsoring organization, community foundation or financial institution. Individuals receive a tax receipt and tax benefits when funds are deposited into their DAF.

CHAMPIONS FOR CHILDREN SOCIETY
The Children’s Advocacy Center Planned Giving Society
Every Child Deserves a Champion - Today and Tomorrow.
The Champions for Children Society honors individuals who have chosen to make a lasting commitment to protecting children through a planned gift to the Children’s Advocacy Center. By including the CAC in your estate plans, you help ensure that every child who walks through our doors has a champion who stands with them - today and into the future.
How to Join the Champions for Children Society
1. Include the Children’s Advocacy Center in your estate plans. Common ways to make a legacy gift include:
Naming the CAC as a beneficiary in your Will or Trust
Designating the CAC as a beneficiary of your IRA, annuity, or retirement plan (401k/403b)
Naming the CAC as a beneficiary or owner of a life insurance policy
Establishing a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, or other planned gift that benefits the CAC
2. Let us know about your gift.
Once you have made arrangements, please complete the Champions for Children Society Form to notify the Children's Advocacy Center of your plans. This allows us to thank you and, with your permission, recognize you as a member of the Champions for Children Society. You may also choose to remain anonymous.
